 With gas prices reaching all-time record highs, Bad Boy Buggy's silent, all-electric recreation vehicle offers an alternative to noisy, gas powered machines. "Hunters are stewards of the land and wildlife. They historically put their money into programs that enhance conservation. So it makes sense for them to also be concerned about the impact of gas powered utility vehicles on our environment. FEATURES AND BENEFITS "We identified very specific goals for this edition," explains Bad Boy Enterprises' President Jim Willard. "We set out to build an even quieter buggy, improve safety, reliability, waterproofing and braking systems, maintain adequate torque, increase speed and improve heat control. We have done all this and more." The Bad Boy's sound rating is 0 dB compared to most UTVs at 87 dB. Horse power is 31 with electric compared to 20 with gasoline. The fuel system consists of eight 6-volt batteries compared to an average 5.3 gallon gas tank. Ground clearance is higher, with buggies at 16.5 inches and most UTVs at a mere 12 inches. Bad Boy Buggies have 170 foot pounds of torque compared to 30 foot pounds. Bad Boys seat 4 people, and come in5 different colors (Hunter Green, Red, Black, Realtree Hardwoods and Mossy Oak Breakup). SAFETY INCREASED The electric braking system cannot be turned off. The system works equally well in forward, neutral or reverse as long as the unit is powered up (key switch on). There is an automatic disconnect from batteries. The system will automatically disconnect the batteries if buggy is not used for 10 Seconds. Simply depress the accelerator and system powers up automatically. This feature is important if the key is left on and the unit left unattended.  RELIABILITY IMPROVEDTwo, U. S. A. made 500 amp controllers improve reliability. Should a failure occur in a controller, the unit can run on 1 controller and 1 motor to prevent the customer from being stranded in the field. Controllers are completely waterproof as are all control system connectors. All switching is done internally in the controllers creating a quieter and more reliable operation. Other mechanical contactors are prone to failure from water, sand & mud which are prevalent in most off-road conditions. Bad Boy's waterproof throttle with no mechanical linkage (no parts exposed below the floorboard) eliminates the possibility of sticks, etc. catching linkage in heavy terrain. Again, our Re-Gen braking system regenerates energy to the batteries and does not create heat build up in the controller. SEM FEATURE CONTROLS DIRECTION In Bad Boy's Separately Excited Motors or SEM - the field and armature are controlled separately. Direction control is done electronically, eliminating the need for an external mechanical contactor. REDUNDANT - Although sealed, external mechanical contactors are prone to failures caused by fine sand, grit, etc. which is prevalent in normal off-road conditions. All Bad Boy motors are built in theUnited States by the largest supplier of motors to the electric vehicle industry. The new SEM (Separately Excited Motors) is faster, safer, and more reliable and delivers unmatched performance. The SEM features Re-Gen braking, which actually captures energy and directs it to the batteries, a vast improvement over the former plug braking system that just used energy. Speed was increased from 14 to 19 mph and range from approximately 20 to 25 miles or more. The new buggies are now completely waterproof with 2 internal direction controllers, full speed control, all-time 4-wheel drive and improved torque at 65 ft/lbs.  ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTSThe throttle is now completely waterproof, with no moving parts, and an electronic sensor. The unit will not move at power up if throttle is depressed. Bad Boy now uses the new and completely waterproof Deutsch Connectors, standards of the automotive, aerospace, military defence and industrial markets. In Bad Boy's innovative, Re-Gen Braking system energy is transferred from the motors back to the batteries. This system generates energy at the motors to slow the vehicle. It is designed to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, improving the life of the mechanical brakes. The speed of the vehicle is controlled by the percent of depression of the accelerator.
