B.A.S.S. to host Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at Toledo Bend

B.A.S.S. will host the Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at Toledo Bend, May 1 – 4, in Many, La.

This event marks the 14th time B.A.S.S. has held a professional tournament on Toledo Bend and is the fourth of nine Bassmaster Elite Series professional bass fishing tournaments scheduled in 2014.

More than 100 of the top bass anglers in the world will compete for a $100,000 prize and coveted entry into the 2015 Bassmaster Classic to be held in Greenville, S.C. The field of competitors includes Kevin VanDam and 2014 Bassmaster Classic Champion Randy Howell.

From watching the first boats take off at 6:20 a.m. on Thurs., May 1, and the final weigh-in at Cypress Bend Park on Sunday at 3:15 p.m., to participating in the family-friendly Elite Series Expo, the activities planned throughout the weekend are free and open to the public. 

Other activities planned throughout the weekend at the Bassmaster Elite Series on Toledo Bend include games and prizes for attendees, angler autograph and photo sessions and the opportunity to learn tips and techniques from some of the best bass anglers in the world. Prior to the weigh-in on Saturday, Costa Sunglasses will debut the third episode in the GEOBASS series, Mexico: Part II.

The Sabine Parish Tourist Commission will also be hosting a children’s festival, live music and fireworks display in conjunction with the Elite Series Expo. The children’s festival will have bounce houses, face painting and the Long Tall Texan making balloon animals.

6:20 a.m.                       The full field of anglers launches on Toledo Bend. Public launch viewing is available from Cypress Bend Park.

3:15 p.m.                       Official weigh-in takes place at Cypress Bend Park.

Sat., May 3

6:20 a.m.                       The Top 50 anglers launch for semi-finals of the Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at Toledo Bend.

12 p.m. – 6 p.m.         Elite Series Expo and children’s festival with bounce houses, face painting and balloon animals.

3 p.m.                             Debut of the third episode in Costa’s GEOBASS series, Mexico: Part II, at Elite Series Expo.

3:15 p.m.                       Official semi-finals weigh-in begins at Cypress Bend Park.

5 p.m.                              Live music from Jason Cassidy.

9 p.m.                              Fireworks display.

Sun., May 4

6:20 a.m.                       The Top 12 anglers launch for the final day of Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at Toledo Bend competition.

12 p.m. – 6 p.m.         Elite Series Expo and children’s festival with bounce houses, face painting and balloon animals.

3:15  p.m.                     Official final weigh-in for the Evan Williams Bourbon Bassmaster Elite at Toledo Bend winner starts at Cypress Bend Park.
