Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s has big plans for “Black Friday,” that fabled day that kicks off the holiday retail shopping.
The 5th Annual Great Turkey Campout begins nationwide at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at 53 Bass Pro Shops store locations. From 5-8 p.m. Thanksgiving evening family and friends will gather around fire pits, enjoy free hot chocolate and s’mores, and play fun games.
Campers can register to win Bass Pro Shops gift cards to be given away every half hour. Also, they can enter the Great Turkey Campout Sweepstakes to win prize packages.
One first prize package includes a Coleman Shelter 10x10 Signature with Lighting’ a Bass Pro Shops 5-person Deluxe Dome Tent, and a Coleman Signature Coffeemaker.
Plus, one grand prize package will be awarded consisting of a two-year lease on a 2012 Toyota Camry XLE valued at about $12,240, an Arctic Cat 425i ATV valued at about $6,329, and a Coleman/Bass Pro Shops Camping Package valued at approximately $301. Friday, from 5:30 am to 7 a.m. campers at Bass Pro Shop stores will be treated to Christmas music and free refreshments. Doors open for Black Friday Christmas sales at 6 a.m.
Cabela’s is celebrating the “Black Friday” shopping experience by presenting gifts to the first 800 shoppers in line at each of its U.S. retail stores Friday, starting at 5 a.m.
Early Black Friday shoppers at each Cabela’s store will have the chance to take home either a Browning A-Bolt Medallion .300 WSM rifle with a Cabela’s 50th Anniversary gun case, or a Cabela’s camouflage hooded sweatshirt or a Cabela’s gift card valued up to $100.
The first 800 Cabela’s shoppers, ages 18 and older, in line at 5 a.m., will be given an envelope containing information about their prizes. All prizes will be distributed randomly. Customers will be able to pick up their gift at the store immediately after store opening. Gun winners will be required to undergo a standard federal background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
