Today’s hero is Tanner Pettitt, 9, of Fort Worth. Tanner harvested this Panhandle porker Thanksgiving weekend in Donley County. Tanner went to a blind with his dad, Tony, but the door was locked, so they hid in some brush with a set of shooting sticks. The boar came out and Tanner dropped him at 85 yards with a .243-caliber rifle. “I was proud because he had to be versatile,” Tony said.
