aajacobLone Star Outdoor News would like to introduce the newest member of the LSON team — Jacob Longoria.

“Once you get into fishing, every time you see a body of water you imagine where you think the fish are hiding,” Longoria said.

A native of Mission in South Texas, Longoria is a 2011 graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in General Studies, where he was also a member of UNT Lacrosse team. While at UNT, he and his roommate traveled often to Lake Ray Roberts to fish and occasionally hunt hogs.

“It started off with clumsy casting, snags, and frustration, but soon became an interest in new fishing locations, spawning seasons and weather conditions to find fish,” Longoria said.

In 2008, Jacob invested in an Emotion fishing kayak to navigate Texas waters.

“That’ is why it’s called “fishing” and not “catching,” Longoria said when talking about the best advice given to him about a bad fishing day.

“Jacob brings a passion for the outdoors and writing solid news storied to LSON,” said Conor Harrison, managing editor. “I know our readers will benefit from his knowledge of fishing in Texas.”
