On a hot windy afternoon, Yamaha bass pro Kelly Jordon of Mineola tied a knot on a worm rig and cast to some deep-water structure. He caught a few small largemouth bass while fishing with a couple of his best friends.
An hour later he was tying another knot in front of 200 people.
Wearing a black tuxedo, Jordon tied the wedding knot June 26 with Kerri Cole in a small chapel at Rough Creek Lodge near Glen Rose Texas.
Officiating the ceremony, Stephen Gardner ad-libbed fishing into Jordon’s vows. “For better or worse, in sickness and health,” and for Kelly, “whether the fish are biting or not,” he added.
The comment drew laughs from the wedding guests.
Cole wore an ivory strapless full-length gown and proudly accepted her vows.
The newlyweds kissed so long that Gardner told them “Stop, that’s enough.”
Again the guests laughed.
