Weekend Update

Story by Darlene Sanchez, Lone Star Outdoor News

With deer hunting gun season getting under way this weekend throughout Texas, the camp cook no doubt won the popularity contest at many a deer camp this weekend. Weather was the deciding factor in some hunts as storms and rain moved across the state. David J. Sams reported that the rain hindered deer movement at his lease in West Texas. Meanwhile, Craig Nyhus paid a visit to the Lone Star Outdoor News’ office dog, Dakota, who is completing his gun dog training with Landmark Retrievers, and Craig is continuing his training as a dog owner and handler.

Texas style fine dining was no doubt abundant this weekend during the opening of deer hunting gun season.
