Crappie Anglers of Texas hold tournament

 Crappie Anglers of Texas held its 5th Plano Marine CAT Qualifier Tournament of the 2012 tournament season at Lake Richland Chambers on May 19. Division 1 had 13 teams compete, while Division 2 had 14 teams.

In Division 2, for the third tournament in a row, father/son team David Hill of Whitney and James Hill of Frisco, took first place with a stringer weighing in at 9.31 pounds. They also took home the Bobby Garland Big Fish Award with a crappie weighing 1.79 pounds. Bill Mouw of Burleson and Alec Dyer of Keller, placed second with 8.43 pounds. Terrance Williams of Grand Prairie and Eric Walker of Teague, finished third with 7.96 pounds.

In Division 1, Max Jordan and Ken Gaby of Belton won with a weight of 9.86 pounds. Pat Martin and Dale Abercrombie of Carrollton finished second with a weight of 8.57 pounds, Paul O’Bier and Gary Sims of Gunter finished third with 8.40 pounds. O’Bier and Sims also won the Bobby Garland Big Fish Award, with a crappie tipping the scales at 1.77 pounds. crap
