  • Water temps 78-80 with good visibility
  • Speckled trout fishing is good for anglers along the east shoreline
  • Best bite coming on top-waters, soft plastics under rattling corks and swim baits
  • The bite at the jetty has greatly improved for speckled trout as better water continues to pour into the lake
  • Redfish, black drum and sheepshead are steady along the rocks on live shrimp and soft plastics
  • Some schooling activity on the south end of Sabine has produced oversized redfish and jack Crevalle. Water temps 78-80 with good visibility

Galveston/Trinity bays

  • Water temps in mid 80s
  • Excellent clarity and color
  • Trout fishing is good now out on the open bay reefs in deeper water
  • Finding slicks over shell reefs has been the best pattern
  • Water temps in mid 80s with excellent clarity and color
  • Beachfront conditions continue to improve with lighter winds and stronger incoming tides

East Matagorda

  • Water temps 80 to 82 degrees
  • Trout are good while drifting over shell in 5 feet of water
  • Live shrimp and soft plastics working well
  • Waders have tossed small top-water lures and MirrOlure Soft Dines on midbay reefs
  • Redfish action improved dramatically this week on the brighter moon
  • Still lots of drum being found on every piece of shell

West Matagorda

  • Water temps in the bay are near 80 degrees.
  • Solid trout in West Matagorda fishing reefs
  • Live shrimp under corks and also on Hogie Major Minnows in roach and strawberry/white are getting bites
  • Recent runoff  has moved the redfish around and out of the back lakes
  • Look for those fish to stage up at the first deep drop near the bayous and channels
  • Despite the off-colored water, there is still a good redfish bite on live and cut mullet

Rockport

  • Water temps remain 78 to 80 degrees
  • Despite the influx of greatly needed fresh water from the recent rains, trout fishing continues to be on the good side
  • Best bite for speckled trout is early and near green water
  • Redfish are consistent even with the fresh water and high tides
  • Shallow grass and potholes are the best pattern for redfish

Baffin Bay

  • Speckled trout and redfish are good
  • Recent rains and runoff knocked water temps down near 80 last week but temps have rebounded to the mid and upper 80s
  • Top-water bite has been very good for larger trout up to 7 pounds
  • Best areas have been 2- to 3-feet deep with good concentrations of mullet present
  • Higher-than-normal tides have redfish tight to the shorelines
  • Spoons, swimbaits and larger soft plastics rigged on light jig heads have been producing good numbers of redfish
  • Calm winds and above normal tides have made water conditions very good overall
