Cedar Creek Lake

Sandbass and hybrid stripers are being caught on shallow humps and windblown points. Best depth is 2 to 8 feet of water at dawn, then we found fish in 12 to 15 feet of water as the day progresses.

For heavy boxes full of eating-sized blue cats, fresh shad on Carolina rigs are working wonders when thrown at windblown points.

Current water temp is 64. Lake is at full pool.

Lake Whitney

Striper fishing is excellent with live shad right now. Focus on windblown points and humps, with the best depth being 14 to 18 feet of water.

For those looking to catch “the other white meat”, crappie can be found in the backs of coves. Focus on water in 2 to 5 feet of water and cast a White Hot Thump Chubby on a 1/16oz jig head. I recommend using it under a bobber, as it’s a lot of fun to catch them that way. Look for areas with pockets of isolated structure.

Water temp is 63. Current lake level is 6ft low.
