For 35 years, the Texas Hunters & Sportsman’s Expo has brought together generations of hunters, anglers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families from across South Texas for a weekend dedicated to celebrating the outdoor lifestyle. Held annually at the McAllen Convention Center, the Expo has grown into the largest hunting, fishing, and outdoors event in South Texas and one of the region’s most anticipated annual traditions.

Founded in 1991 by Jerry Curl, the Texas Hunters & Sportsman’s Expo welcomes more than 40,000 attendees throughout its three-day run, drawing visitors from across Texas and Northern Mexico. The event features hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and outdoor products, alongside premier outfitters, fishing guides, conservation organizations, and industry experts.

Attendees can explore new gear, discover outdoor destinations, connect with fellow sportsmen and women, and enjoy a variety of educational seminars, demonstrations, special guests, and family-friendly attractions. Whether you’re an experienced outdoorsman or simply looking to introduce the next generation to life outside, the Expo offers something for every outdoor enthusiast.

The Rio Grande Valley’s rich hunting and fishing heritage, fueled by its proximity to the Gulf Coast, expansive ranchlands, and diverse wildlife habitats, makes the region a natural home for an event of this scale. For many families, attending the Expo has become a cherished tradition passed down from one generation to the next.

Join us as we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Texas Hunters & Sportsman’s Expo and continue a South Texas tradition that has united the outdoor community for more than three decades.
