Two Texas outdoor organizations are combining forces.
Safari Club International (SCI) has announced the acquisition of the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation (OTF), a national leader in outdoor education for students in grades K–12. This latest acquisition marks a major step forward in SCI’s mission to secure the future of hunting through education, advocacy, and hands-on experience.
For more than 40 years, OTF has worked to expand youth outdoor education and championing wildlife conservation efforts through its Outdoor Adventures curriculum, now taught in thousands of schools across fifty states. By joining forces, SCI and OTF ensures that the next generation of hunters, anglers, and conservation advocates are educated, engaged, and inspired to carry forward America’s outdoor hunting heritage.
“This acquisition brings the future of hunting into the classroom,” said W. Laird Hamberlin, CEO of Safari Club International. “SCI’s global advocacy and chapter network will empower the next generation of hunters by integrating OTF’s curriculum. Our combined resources will teach the next generation respect for wildlife, establish a lifelong connection to the outdoors, and provide them the knowledge needed to protect the future of hunting.”
A Partnership for the Next Generation
Under the new structure, OTF’s programs will continue to operate under the Outdoor Tomorrow Foundation, as an SCI education initiative, with expanded resources, technology, and chapter engagement.
“The Outdoor Tomorrow Foundation believes the best way to protect the future of hunting and fishing is to teach it,” said Sean McLelland, Executive Director of OTF. “With SCI’s leadership and chapter network we will reach more schools, empower more teachers, and connect more youth to the outdoors than ever before.”
Strengthening the Hunting Community from the Ground Up
This acquisition creates new pathways for SCI Chapters to engage and work with schools in their regions, providing support for classroom materials, field days, and local conservation projects.
“This partnership connects the energy of our youth to the purpose of our mission,” said Jeff Meyerl, President of Safari Club International. “Every young hunter, angler, and conservationist we inspire today ensures that our freedom to hunt and our wildlife heritage thrive tomorrow.”
