At the annual fundraiser, PCQ recognized legendary Texas oil and gas entrepreneur and conservationist A.V. Jones Jr. with the T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award and tickets, raffle, silent and live auction sales resulted in a record $770,000 that will go directly to research and education to help restore the wild quail population in Texas.

Following a 12-week request for proposal process and PCQ evaluation of grant proposals from groups across the region and country, checks will be presented to an unprecedented number of projects and beneficiaries. Grant recipients include: Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch Foundation, The Quail-Tech Alliance, Borderlands Research Institute, National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative, Texas A&M AgriLife, Texas Tech University: The Institute of Environmental and Human Health, University of North Texas Quail and Texas Bobwhite Brigade.  Representatives from these organizations are expected to attend.
