Popular Colt Boa available for limited run
One of the most collectible Colt model pistols of all time is about to be reborn.
The original Colt Boa was a .357 Magnum revolver produced on a very limited run in 1985 of 1,200 units. Six hundred 4-inch barrel guns and 600 6-inch barrel models were made. That’s it. They quickly became the “Holy Grail” of the Colt snake gun series, featuring the Anaconda, Cobra, Viper, Diamondback, and Python releases.

Because of the rarity, many Colt collectors have not been able to fill out their snake gun collection. Until now.
Austin Rohr, owner of Custom and Collectible Firearms based in Tyler, purchased the rights to the Boa line several years ago, and contacted Colt about a collaboration to bring back the Boa. Colt agreed and the two groups have been working on the new gun ever since. The new gun was announced at the recent NRA Convention in Houston.
“I’ve got a great relationship with Colt,” Rohr said at his booth at the show, where orders for the new firearm were being written fast and furiously. “This has been three years in the making. This will be a limited time release. We aren’t capping the number produced, but we are capping the timeframe the gun will be available.”
The classic model will be reproduced in both a 4- and 6-inch barrel model, just like the originals. The new releases will even feature the same blue box and packaging synonymous with the Colt Boa.
“The response has been phenomenal,” Rohr said. “The plan is to take orders for one year. This collaboration has been a lot of fun, and the Colt Collectors Association is really excited.”
Each limited edition gun will have the starting serial number of BOA 001, followed by its unique number.
